Joseph “Ben” Kasser

Local 250 officers had the incredible honor on Veterans Day of presenting an 80-year pin to Joseph “Ben” Kasser. The 99-year-old was accompanied by his friend and longtime coworker Louis Igyarto, an honorary Local 250 members, who was also presented his 50-year anniversary pin. Ben is an honorary member of Local 250. Initiated into the Carpenters Union in 1942, he worked for a year before getting drafted into the Army during WWII and serving in the South Pacific. The majority of his career was spent as a roofer before retiring in 1989 at the age of 66. Ben’s family owned a union roofing company and he says he’s very proud to be a union member and appreciates the benefits he has enjoyed all these years. Congratulations on 80 years Ben! It's an honor to have you as a member and thank you for your service!

Waukegan & Johnsburg High school Job fair

Thanks to everyone who visited the Carpenters’ booth at the Waukegan & Johnsburg High School Job Fair! The event helped promote careers for students in manufacturing, industry, and the trades. The expo gave young people and their parents a chance to meet local industry representatives and learn about career paths and educational opportunities. We had a lot of interest from students looking to build a career in the Carpenters Union!

Local meetings

Our meetings are held on the 2nd Monday of every month at 7 pm. Located at the VPW post in Lake Villa. Bring your co-workers who are members. Our meetings provide the opportunity for even more networking in our larger jurisdiction, with over 2,000 members.
